Quartz : a low maintenance revolution.

Quartz is similar to granite in durability. It is produced using crushed natural quartz, one of the hardest and most abundant minerals on Earth. Quartz slabs contain 90-93% natural quartz, with the balance being made up of pigments and high quality polymer resins. The results are remarkably strong, non-porous slabs which are highly scratch, heat and stain resistant. Quartz countertops do not require sealing and are very low maintenance. They are also NSF and Greenguard certified, assuring homeowners of their safety. There are many Quartz products which use recycled materials and environmentally conscious practices in their production, and some are LEED certified.

Quartz has been gaining in popularity by leaps and bounds, and for good reason. New colors are being introduced on a regular basis. There are a spectrum of colors available, from those which mimic the varied look of natural stone (particularly marble) to solid, consistent colors. One of the convenient aspects of Quartz is consistency. Unlike natural stone, you can count on the sample matching the slab.

Many manufacturers have introduced select colors in matte finishes, referred to as Honed, Suede or Natural depending on the manufacturer. These finishes may require more maintenance than a polished surface.
